Canine Cadets

The journey to establish this business started by adopting a dog with some complex behaviour, and while striving to improve his quality of life by education, I discovered a method of training and community in Honest Hounds who I am an affiliate Social Walk leader with now, and support others as they helped me. Also I struggled to find a safe, calm, home environment for my own dogs to board when I needed to be away, and now can provide that for others.

We love walking and frequently travel to the beach or hills for a hike - boarding dogs join us unless they’re more a chill on the sofa kind of pup! Then we ensure dogs have time to decompress after a big walk.

We’ve designed an environment and daily routine which calms even the most anxious of dogs very quickly, and tend to find they all settle within the first day - where that isn’t the case, we adapt the set up to ensure they get the most out of their holiday and reduce any stress on them.

There are no children or cats in the house, it’s located in a quiet, scenic area with minimal traffic. There’s a large area to exercise however we mostly travel for walks and then relax back at base camp.

Our aim is for all dogs boarding or on daycare with Canine Cadets, to go home fulfilled, calm and refreshed.
